BLUE JAY (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO)

FINALLY the music video to my song BLUE JAY has been released to the public! Embark Entertainment/Daydreaming Entertainment produced the video. It was such a FUN video to make! The video takes place in the 1940's era and my character is performer and her love interest gets drafted to war and she has to let him go. The song Blue Jay is about love and letting go. Sacrificing for the better. The symbolism is the video is that the "blue jay" is the love interest and in the video the boy gives the girl a pendent with a blue jay on it!  The cool thing is that my dear boyfriend Dave Swenson actually stars as the male protagonist in the video! It's so fun for me to watch the video because when we filmed the video it was in the early stages of our relationship so it's really neat to have this video of us! He's such and awesome sport for helping me out with the video and he did amazing! Natural talent at acting! The rest of the cast members in the video I am also extremely grateful for! The extras in the train station scene are my dad, mom, brother, uncle, cousin and my boyfriends brother and his girlfriend. What amazing people for helping me out! I loved having some of my family on set with me. And I was really honored to have my uncle and cousin there too! I was really surprised at first when my uncle agreed to participate because I asked him as kind of a joke the night before because I was looking to fill the roles because some other actors that I had weren't able to make it. And I found out about this hidden love my uncle has for acting! So it worked out great and was way fun having him on set. It was all put together last minute so I am so grateful for all their help and willingness to be apart of my video! The day that we were on set for the train station scene was such an adventure! We filmed at the station in Salt Lake City, Utah at the Gateway Mall. We had to film SUPER fast because the security guards didn't like us being there.... It's actually pretty funny cuz in the video where Dave embraces me at the station was the one shot we got at that cuz we were being kicked out that very second and Kenny the director was filming us as he was walking backwards out of the station haha! We had to change location for the rest of the train station scene but it turned out. The intro and outro scenes at the mirror was actually filmed in my bedroom. I searched EVERYWHERE for a backstage mirror with the lights and I couldn't find one anywhere! So I put matters into my own hands and made one myself :) We got the light bulbs at Lowe's and taped them to the back of a mirror and then placed the mirror on a table. We were happy that it was able to work for us. The stage scenes where filmed at The Grove Theater in Pleasant Grove, Utah and that is the Venue where my CD release show was for "Chronic Case of Love" in November 2011 so it was fun going there again. Although it was FREEZING on set! I was barefoot for most of the filming and I felt like my feet were going to fall off! The things we do for videos haha. Then the scenes with Dave and I at the restaurant was at Wingers and Fong in American Fork, Utah. We got quite a lot of weird looks and stares in our costumes haha but it made it all the more fun! I had so much fun dressing up for this video with the hair, make-up and costume!  Well I had so much fun making this music video and I am forever grateful to all those who helped make it all come together. and thank YOU for watching and sharing. I hope you like it!
The song Blue Jay is Available on iTunes.

2012 New Beginnings

Hey there! Ms. Natalie here! Happy New Year! Wow I can't believe it's already the start of a new year. I love the beginnings of new years because it is like a whole fresh start and people get in their "goals" mode which is awesome because it's important that we always work towards something, always work to move forward in life rather than be stagnant. So I have been brain storming on what MY new years resolutions are. I came to the conclusion on my biggest new years resolution and that is to Seek Jesus Christ. My home teachers came to visit me and shared the scripture Ether 12:41

"And now, I would commend you to seek this Jesus of whom the prophets and apostles have written, that the grace of God the Father and also the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost, which beareth record of them, may be and abide in you forever."

So that's what I am going to do, I am going to "seek this Jesus" with all my heart. I want to find him and know him more than I already do. A testimony takes work and we must constantly be nourishing it. I think we can all strive to have a better relationship with Christ. We all have our challenges and trials, in 2011 I hit a little road bump in my life where I kind of forgot who I was..blah blah blah. I learned the importance of having a relationship with our Savior. If you ever are feeling lost, and you've forgotten who you are, turn to Christ because I know when we find him we will find ourselves. As the scripture says in the bible Matthew 10:39

"He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it."

I have a testimony of this. It is through Christ that we find true happiness. I know that everything in my life may change but the one thing that will ALWAYS stay constant is my loving Savior. I have made a list of things I am going to do to seek him.

1. Morning and Night Scripture study and prayer
2. Institute twice a week at UVU Institute building
3. Attend the temple once a week
4. Regular Church attendance
5. Everyday write down what I'm grateful for that day, a miracle that happened that day, or how the Lords hand was in my life that day.
6. Study Christ. Read Jesus the Christ.
7. SERVE those around me
8. Surround myself with positive influences. Wholesome music, movies, books, atmospheres etc.

I put this list together and it's still growing. Yes, a lot of things on the list are your basic "primary" answers but I think it's the small and simple things that keep us anchored. And sometimes we just simply need to be reminded of the importance of doing those things. I know I just need a reminder. Sometimes we do forget, we forget who we are and we forget the "why" of the gospel. I don't want to forget! And if we feel like we have forgotten we can ALWAYS come back and find. That's one thing that humbles me so much is to know that the Lord will never ever never ever never ever turn his back on me. He is always there ready to help me but another thing I've learned is that Christ is also the perfect gentleman where I have to LET him help me. I am so grateful for my life and everything I have in it. My precious family and friends, the knowledge of the gospel in my life, where I live, the lessons I've learned, my job, my talents, my convieniences like my car, phone, electricity etc. Each day I live is such a blessing and everything that I have, everything that I am is because of HIM. I am so grateful. Now this wonderful Savior in my life has blessed me so much and now I want to build my relationship with him. I want to find him. I know that Jesus is the Christ and I know he is my Savior. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true gospel. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is the true and living Prophet of God today. I know I am a daughter of God and that he loves me. Now, these things I know because I felt them. I know what if feels like to not have the spirit in my life verses when I do. And that "feeling" is something I can not deny. I look forward to finding that light, to finding Christ.

Well, that's just what's been on my mind lately. I invite you to also seek Jesus Christ and find him this year. I hope you have a wonderful day! Till next time.
